Zamboanga City’s rehabilitated tourist landmark to be unveiled on Feb. 26 – Mayor Climaco

The Zamboanga City government is set to inaugurate the newly rehabilitated R.T. Lim Boulevard this coming week, a tourist landmark, Mayor Beng Climaco said.

The local chief executive said the event to be held on February 26 coincides with the city’s celebration of its 84th Charter Day.

She assured that the inauguration rites will strictly follow the health protocols, such as wearing of face masks and face shields and observance of physical distancing of people who will attend the event.

Undergoing similar rehabilitation is the Paseo del Mar, which is almost complete, and soon the parks and gardens near City Hall, said Climaco.

The government earmarked P74 million for the rehabilitation and beautification of R.T. Boulevard under the “Green, Green, Green” program of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The program aims to make the country’s 145 cities more livable and sustainable through the development of public open spaces. “Green, Green, Green” is a component of the Duterte administration’s massive national infrastructure development program, “Build, Build, Build”.
