The city government of Zamboanga is eyeing to wrap up the deliberation on the proposed P3.4 billion budget for 2019 by the end of this week.
Mayor Beng Climaco, chair of the City Finance Committee, has started on August 7 marathon hearings to finalize the preparation for the 2019 budget.
The city government said the hearing, which will include the assessment and evaluation of the proposals of the different city departments, national high schools, trial courts and other agencies subsidized by the local government, is expected to be completed by late this week.
“Budget forums with the barangays are also set next week,” it said.
The priority programs for next year would focus on security, health and education or SHE program, as well as on infrastructure and basic social services.
