Zamboanga City remains free from COVID-19

Zamboanga City Health authorities said Monday, March 9, that the city has no confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The city government said there were also no persons under monitoring nor investigation for COVID-19.

However, it said, “strict monitoring activities are in place and health authorities remain vigilant among persons with history of travel especially from countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases.”

It reiterated its advice to the public that those with history of travel, especially from countries with COVID-19 cases, to undergo self-monitored home quarantine.

The city government echoed the advice of the Department of Health (DOH) to practice regular hand washing, social distancing, cover cough and sneeze, avoid crowded places, and have healthy lifestyles.

The DOH has reported that there were already 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
