Zamboanga City forms task force to ensure compliance of establishments on health standards

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has issued an executive order creating an Inter-Agency Compliance Team (IACT) to determine if minimum health standards are being observed by various establishments to ensure that coronavirus disease would not spread.

Climaco designated City Administrator Marie Angelique Go as the chairperson of the IACT.

The IACT three focal persons are Benjie Barredo for Business Establishments, Albert Sta. Teresa for Roving Patrol and Cesar Raz for Transport with concerned agencies as members.

“The IACT is tasked to periodically assess level of compliance in various establishments and to establish a culture of social distancing, provide a reliable source of regulatory information to the LGU (local government units) and to ensure that health, hygiene, and COVID-19 prevention measures are complied with,” the city government said.

The Philippine National Police is tasked to apprehend all violators of EO 568-2020.

“Violators of the order may be subjected to prosecution under the COVID-19 emergency ordinance of the City of Zamboanga,” the local government said. #
