Over 1,000 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) arrived in Zamboanga City Saturday night, August 1.
The City Tourism Office (CTO) facilitated the arrival of 1,116 LSIs under the national government’s “Hatid Tulong” program at the local port.
Of the total arrivals, 588 were from Zamboanga City, the local government said Sunday, August 3.
Meanwhile, Mayor Beng Climaco inspected Saturday the ongoing construction of a new holding area for inbound travelers at Licomo boundary.
“A quarantine checkpoint is established at the Licomo border where all travel requirements are being checked,” the city government said.
Climaco also met with the composite team manning the quarantine checkpoint and assured them that the City government is exerting its best efforts to fight the new coronavirus.
