The Zamboanga City government is planning to provide a “second wave of assistance,” this time for all the households in the city, amid the quarantine measure being implemented due to coronavirus disease pandemic.
The local government said Mayor Beng Climaco will submit to the City Council for approval the proposed budget to augment the present allocation of welfare goods to cover for the second wave of assistance.
Once the additional budget is approved, it said each of all the households in the city will receive one sack of 25 kilos of rice and one time utility assistance amounting to P500 for water bills and another P500 for electricity bills for every residential consumer.
“This is to ensure the welfare and well being of every Zamboangueño family while we remain committed in the fight against Covid19,” it said.
The city government also thanked the City Social Welfare and Development Office and all the barangays for their first wave of distribution of family food packs with augmentation from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
It said that the first wave of food packs reached all the 98 barangays and covered 178,615 households.
