Zamboanga City allots P5M to purchase relief goods for quake-hit areas

The city government of Zamboanga has earmarked P5 million to assist earthquake-affected population in Davao del Sur and North Cotabato.

This was contained in a resolution approved by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Beng Climaco.

The fund, which will be taken from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), will be used for the purchase of relief goods, which include canned goods, kitchen utensils, water, rice, blankets, and mosquito nets, among others.

The city government has initially delivered relief goods worth P500,000 to Davao City through Philippine Coast Guard’s MV Bagacay Sunday, November 3.

“The bulk of the relief goods, worth P4.5M will be transported to Davao City by CDRRMO personnel led by Dr. Elmeir Apolinario within the week to augment the relief assistance of the national government for the quake victims,” the city government said.
