Wearing of face shields not necessary while onboard PUJs in Davao City – official


The Davao City government has ordered to discontinue the use of face shields while inside the public utility jeepneys (PUJs).

Davao Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said passengers onboard an open and well-ventilated PUJs are no longer required to wear face shields.

She said that based on the directive of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, face shields are only necessary in closed and confined places.

“It was clearly emphasized by the mayor when it is closed and confined, the face shield is necessary. So she defined there that jeepney – it is not closed and confined, it is open with free ventilation,” the official said.
