An alleged member of the communist New People’s Army (NPA), who was allegedly the prime suspect in the killing of a barangay captain, was arrested in a manhunt operation in Surigao del Sur.

Caraga Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. identified Monday, May 11, the suspect as Lando G. Turaja, alias Allan, 50, and had a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder and attempted murder.

Turaja, a member of Guerilla Front 30, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee, was nabbed Sunday, May 10, in Barangay Payasan in Lianga town.
