Vice President Leni Robredo has turned over P2-million check to the city government of Isabela to assist the fisherfolk there.

The local government led by Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin Hataman and Vice Mayor Kifli Hataman-Salliman together with Deputy Speaker Mujiv, welcomed Robredo in the city during her visit Wednesday, December 11.

The local government said that the P2-million check for an Angat Buhay project would be used to help the city’s fisherfolk community in Barangay Lukbuton represented by FARMC, a city-supported and BFAR-organized association of small fishermen in the islands and coastal communities.

“The amount will be used for purchase of 3 units solar-powered chest freezer, 3 motorized bancas, 3 gill nets, and series of trainings including coastal resource management and sustainable fishing methods,” the local government said.
