The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC), in partnership with the Office of Senator Cynthia Villar, has turned over the first-ever dairy processing plant and marketing outlet in South Cotabato to the local government of Surallah.
In her virtual message during the event Monday, October 18, Villar congratulated the DA-PCC and the Surallah LGU for the success of the turnover ceremony of the dairy box.
She underscored the need to improve the production of dairy industry nationwide and by funding this kind of project, more dairy farmers can produce more milking carabaos that would help them earn and produce quality dairy products.
Villar also promised to create a law for the livestock, poultry and dairy industry.
Surallah Mayor Antonio O. Bendita expressed gratitude to Villar, DA-PCC, and other partner agencies for the project, which will serve as a dairy hub where farmers can sell and market their nutritious and healthy milk products.
