Valencia City halts accepting LSIs until Oct. 4 – Mayor Huervas

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas has ordered the moratorium and suspension of inbound transport of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) until early next month.

In a public advisory issued Tuesday, September 22, the mayor said her directive is effective immediately until October 4 this year.

“Residents of this City are advised to inform affected locally stranded relatives and family members to reschedule their return to Valencia City until after October 4, 2020,” she said.

Huervas said the Emergency Operation and Command Center of the City shall utilize the short pause in the entry of LSIs to rest or rotate exhausted personnel and frontline workers, refine existing guidelines and protocols, and appraise the overall performance of the command center in order to serve the public better in the grueling months ahead.
