Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has received a recognition from the United States Department of Justice-International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (USDOJ-ICITAP) for her “visionary leadership.”
The city government said the Recognition of Distinction was given to the mayor “for visionary leadership of Local Government, exemplified through collaborative outreach with partnering agencies, augmenting capacity building and development opportunities for leading constituents enhancing their abilities to improve the quality of life for the citizens they serve.”
ICITAP expressed gratitude to Climaco for her dedicated support to the Countering Violent Extremism Program (CVET) and its successful outcome in the city.
The plaque of Recognition of Distinction was presented to the mayor by USDOJ-ICITAP Attache Juan Bortfeld through Maj. Eric Orillaneda (ret) USDOJ-ICITAP Site Supervisor Thursday, September 16.
ICITAP also awarded Jojo Abdusalam, the mayor’s Executive Assistant on Muslim Affairs, with a plaque honoring his distinctive service during the series of community dialogues and other activities on CVET.
