US donates mobile freezer to Davao City

The Davao City government has received one unit of mobile refrigerator/freezer from the United States Department of Defense and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ReachHealth Project.

USAID ReachHealth Program Regional Manager for Mindanao Edgardo B. Catalan led the turnover of the equipment to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Ashley Lopez in a ceremony held at the City Hall.

Once fully charged, the mobile refrigerator/freezer is capable of maintaining a temperature of – 8 to 8 degrees Celsius for up to 72 hours, the city government said.

The equipment can carry up to 2,000 vials of vaccines and can also store blood and other injectable medicines.

“The equipment is very useful in the city’s vaccination campaign especially in the far-flung areas of Marilog and Paquibato Districts,” the local government said.
