Ungab accepts removal as appro chair but warns House leaders: ‘Truth will prevail’

Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab was ceremoniously stripped of his chairmanship of the powerful House committee on appropriations in plenary session on Monday.

Upon a motion by Senior Deputy Majority Leader Boying Remulla, Ungab was replaced by ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Eric Go Yap, who also chairs the committee on games and amusements.

Sought for comment, Ungab said he accepted his fate but warned the House leadership that the truth will prevail.

“I believe that the only guide to a man is his conscience, and the truth will always prevail no matter what,” he said.

“I have served my country and people well to the utmost of my ability. I accept my fate and so be it,” Ungab said.
