Tugade promises to prioritize 2 port projects in Tawi-Tawi – LGU

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade has vowed to prioritize two port projects in Tawi-Tawi, the local government said.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) chief made the promise in his recent meeting with the Tawi-Tawi provincial government officials held in Pasay City, it said.

“Secretary Tugade identified Lamion port with roll-on/roll-off ramp-dock and Sapa-Sapa main port as strategic infrastructure development to speed up inter-island mobility, and increase trade and economic opportunities in the province,” it said.

The local government noted that the Bangsamoro government has named Tawi-Tawi as a key growth center during the first governance summit last July 24 while labeling the province as the gateway to Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP EAGA), a specialized economic zone of the Mindanao corridors, and seaweeds capital of the region.
