The Politiko shared his thoughts on the Marawi rehabilitation on its 3rd year anniversary.
Bangsamoro Parliament leader Zia Alonto Adiong recently commemorated the third year anniversary of the Marawi Seige. On his Twitter, the Politiko posted a throwback photo back in 2017, when the Philippine government forces and an alliance of IS-aligned militants started a firefight. He said that the threat of the coronavirus disease had made it harder for the rehabilitation team to progress.
“Respond to the needs of those who remain displaced without adequate shelter and access to basic infrastructure needed to mitigate the spread of the virus”, he wrote.
He further added that the rehabilitation group need to double time the process and hope that the timetable set by the authorities for the masterplan to be fully realized which is on December 2021 is still achievable.
