The city government of Tagum has moved the schedule for the lighting of a giant Christmas tree to December 1, Sunday.
The lighting activity was initially set on November 23.
“This (change of schedule) is to coincide on the day when the first liturgical candle of Advent is lighted on the 1st Sunday of Advent,” the city government said.
It also said the move adds more distinct significance to the event, “as we join the whole world in celebrating Christmas.”
The local government urged the public to join in the lighting of the city’s “Christmas icon” on December 1.
