The city government of Tagum has extended more than P1.2-million worth of calamity assistance to fisherfolk affected by the series of devastating floods that damaged several fish ponds in two barangays last year.

The local government said the calamity assistance consists of fish feeds and fertilizers that were awarded to Busaon Fishpond Owners/Operators Association (BUSFOA) and Liboganon Fishpond Owners/Operators Association (LUSFOA).

The aid came from the City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) fund as part of its rehabilitation and reconstruction phase mandate.

Committee Chair on Agriculture Councilor Ronald Eliot led the turnover of the assistance in a ceremony Thursday, January 23.
