Mayor Rabat turns over heavy equipment for Mati City’s landslide-prone barangays

Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat has led the turnover of four newly purchased units of heavy equipment for four barangays prone to landslides. Two motor graders, a backhoe, and a dump truck will be deployed at the satellite office of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRM) in Barangay Luban, the city government said. All the equipment amounted to P50,993,500.

Special non-working day in Mati City on Oct. 29 – LGU

The Mati City government has reminded the Matinians that October 29 of every year is declared a special non-working holiday in the city. The declaration of holiday in Mati is pursuant to Republic Act No. 8256. Prior to becoming a city, Mati became a regular municipality together with Davao, Cateel, Baganga, and Caraga on Oct. 29, 1903 by virtue of Act No. 21 of the Organic Law, which was later amended by Act No. 189 in 1907, which further affirmed the constitution of the Municipality of Mati.

Mayor Rabat assures aid to fire-displaced families in Mati City

Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat has urged the families displaced by the recent fire to continue with their lives as the local government extended assistance to them. The city government distributed Thursday, September 29, the financial aid to 22 families who lost their homes in a fire on September 17. Nine homeowners with totally damaged houses received P15,000 each, one with a partially damaged house got P10,000, and 12 renters received P5,000 each.

Mati City hosts PH’s first freediving festival

Mati City hosts the first government-initiated freediving event in the country. Some 65 participants, including influencers and invited special guests of scuba divers and free divers, explored the Bay of Pajuda on Sunday, September 25, the third day of the Bay Deep Mati Freediving Festival.

Mati City LGU extends aid to 22 fire-displaced families

The Mati City government has provided assistance to 22 families or 77 individuals who were affected by the fire in Barangay Sainz. The local government said seven houses were totally damaged and two others were partially damaged during the fire incident on September 17 in Purok Rosal-1, Mapantad.
