Sumosobra na kasi! Sara Duterte backs brother, husband in filing raps vs. Trillanes
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has thrown her support behind her brother and husband in filing a civil case against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
In a press conference Friday (December 29), Sara said Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and abogado Manases Carpio were “within their rights” to take Trillanes to court.
“I feel na what Trillanes did to them is too much, especially that my husband is a private individual. He is not a public official. He is not a public property. I support my husband and my brother in the case that they filed and I hope it will prosper,” she said.
Sara said she only found out about the filing of the case recently since her husband did not consult her about it beforehand.
Paolo and Carpio filed a civil case against Trillanes, an administration critic, over the graft allegation he made against them in connection with getting a franchise for Uber and other ride-sharing companies.
Trillanes had accused the two members of President Rodrigo Duterte in September of being in cahoots with Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region 7 Director Ahmed Cuizon to extort money from ride sharing companies that want a franchise.
The abogado of Paolo and Carpio said Trillanes’ allegation about their supposed involvement in the smuggling of P6.4-billion worth of shabu had nothing to do with the case.
