South Cotabato preparing for dengue cases surge, says official

The South Cotabato provincial government has been preparing for the surge of dengue cases in the province.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Officer-in-charge Rolly Doane Aquino said his office has earmarked funds for the purchase of chemicals and machine/equipment to be used during fogging operations in dengue-hit barangays in the province.

Based on the latest Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (PESU) reports, dengue cases now totaled 700 province-wide.

The Department of Health cautioned the general public to be vigilant against dengue because it is critical if an individual is infected with dengue and at the same time with Covid-19 since the former weakens the immune system.
