South Cotabato OKs P33.67M for COVID-19 response programs


The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of South Cotabato has approved a budget to fund the local government’s response programs amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.

The provincial government said the SP passed the resolution for the 2020 Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund-IP Quick Response Fund amounting to P33.67 million during a special session Saturday, April 4.

The fund will be used to purchase medical and laboratory supplies, and other supplies (P11.6 million); provision of relief assistance to disaster-affected families (P15 million); provision of medical, hospital and burial assistance to affected individuals (P2 million); provision of quarantine facility, food, and other supplies for the health workers and frontliners (P3 million); and Functionality and Equipage of Covid-Center (P2 million).

The SP also approved a resolution authorizing Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to purchase 65,000 bags of rice from the National Food Authority (NFA) for relief operations in the province of South Cotabato. #
