South Cotabato LGU provides financial aid to 37 ex-rebels

The provincial government of South Cotabato has extended financial assistance to at least 37 former rebels.

Each rebel returnee received P20,000 during the turnover ceremony held Thursday, March 12, at Villa Princessita in Koronadal City.

“The cash assistance is part of the intervention and initiative of Governor Raynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) worth Php740,000,” the local government said.

Executive Assistant IV Rudy S. Jimenea, on behalf of Tamayo, handed over the cash assistance to the former rebels as their starting capital.

Jimenea urged other rebels to abandon the armed struggle and return to the government to gain a peaceful and smooth way of living with their family.
