For the record, South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance-Fuentes has no problem with President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of military rule in Mindanao.
This, despite the lady politiko’s admission that Duterte’s Martial Law pronouncement last May 23 would affect the entry of investments as well as the local tourism industry.
Governor Avance-Fuentes said in a Brigada News FM Koronadal report Thursday (June 1) that the foremost consideration should be the neutralization of the Maute Group members who tried to take over Marawi City in Lanao del Sur. Maute has links with dreaded Muslim extremists ISIS.
She even noted in the same report that Maute has sympathizers in Sarangani Province and South Cotabato.
At any rate, the lady politiko said that it’s “business as usual” in South Cotabato, as evidenced by the Capitol’s decision to push through with the annual Tinalak Festival in July.
