Former Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) governor Zaldy Ampatuan has asked Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Soliis-Reyes to allow him to be transferred to the Philippine Heart Center (PHC).
In his urgent motion, Ampatuan said he was found suffering congestive heart failure when he was brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital last June 24 from his cell at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Because of this, his lawyers pointed out “the accused was constrained to request for his transfer to PHC to undergo all other necessary medical and laboratory examinations, other procedure deemed necessary, and general recuperation.”
The lawyers noted that doctors at the at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital has already recommended the transfer and arrangements have been made with PHC for possible confinement.
“Zaldy, through the undersigned shall strictly comply with all the logistic, security and other administrative measures that this Honorable Court might impose for the purpose of facilitating and supervising the conduct of the transfer,” read his motion.
He and his brother Andal Ampatuan Jr. along with over a hundred others are facing multiple murder charges over the killing of 58 persons in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre.
