Senate to summon ‘Small’ of Davao group linked to P6.4B shabu shipment

The Senate of the Philippines is set to summon an alleged member of the Davao group who was involved in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment smuggled from China.

Reports said Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has asked the Senate blue ribbon committee to invite Small Abellera, who he said was a councilor in Davao City and alleged friend of presidential son and Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

Customs broker Mark Taguba earlier identified “Small” as a member of the Davao group operating in the Bureau of Customs. He said a certain Small, Jack and Tita Nanie had been invoking the Davao group in their transactions in the agency, led by Paolo Duterte.

“So the question is, why would a councilor from Davao City be dealing with some brokers? And this Small Abellera is known in Davao City to be very close to Paolo Duterte,” Trillanes said in an interview with ANC.
