The local government of Samal through the City Agriculture Office will be distributing 20,000 tilapia fingerlings to 11 beneficiaries.
The fingerlings came from Nabunturan, Davao de Oro hatchery.
“These 20,000 tilapia fingerlings, divided evenly to sizes 15 and 17, are to be disseminated to 11 local beneficiaries who are having a backyard fishpond further considered as fisher folks,” the local government said.
Six of the beneficiaries are from Samal District, four from Kaputian District, and one from Babak District.
A thousand square meter of pond may be filled with a thousand of tilapia fingerlings.
The total amount of the 20,000 tilapias is approximately P20,000.
