What Rody wants for peace: Stop forced collection of revolutionary taxes, release of prisoners of war
The Duterte administration is imposing terms on what it wants the Communist Party of the Philippines-National Democratic Front (CPP-NDF) to comply to allow the group to be able to strike a bilateral ceasefire agreement with the government, Presidential spokesman Undersecretary Ernie Abella said on Saturday (April 1, 2017)
Citing information provided by Office of the Presidential Adviser of the Peace Process (OPAPP) Usec. Nabil Tan, the President has instructed to reiterate to the government panel the terms for a bilateral ceasefire agreement with the CPP/ NPA/ NDF as follows:
a. There should be a clear parameters or Terms of Reference for the Ceasefire
b. The government shall not recognize any territorial claims of the CPP/ NPA/ NDF
c. The CPP/ NPA/ NDF should cease the collection of revolutionary tax and the conduct of extortion and extraction and arson
d. The CPP/ NPA/ NDF shall release all prisoners.
