It should be: Real-life Moana! Mayor Regie Sahali brings ‘sailing boat’ educ to young sea gypsies

See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls this politiko to bring “good education” in a far-flung barangay in Tawi-Tawi.

Panglima Sugala town Mayor Regie Sahali literally sailed the seas to reach the island of Barangay Tongbangkaw.

How far did she go? Around 16 kilometers off the bay of Poblacion in Barangay Batu-Batu.

She brought with her the Panglima Sugala Sailing Boat School, a literacy program for the Sama Dilaut (sea gypsies) children of the barangay.

Teachers, including sulad, Badjao and municipal volunteers, will conduct the classes in the boats provided by the mayor.

For a start, she also brought with her school supplies donated by her sister, Tawi-Tawi Rep. Ruby Sahali.

“I promise you will have a good education and we will protect you from any harm,” Sahali told the Tongbangkaw children.
