Deputy Speaker and Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez on Wednesday lauded the appointment of Court of Appeals Justice Japar Dimaampao to the Supreme Court (SC).
“He is the first Maranao to be named to the high court and the second appointee of Muslim heritage,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said Dimaampao “would be an invaluable asset to the Supreme Court, given his long years of service in the Court of Appeals and in the judiciary.”
“He has served the judiciary with utmost competence, dedication and integrity,” Rodriguez added. “He will be most helpful especially in resolving tax-related issues, Justice Dimaampao also being an accountant.”
