Potable water project to be built in T’boli town, says Gov Tamayo

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is set to construct a potable water project worth P3.5 million to benefit indigenous community in three barangays in T’boli town, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. said.

Tamayo said a team coming from the Environment and Occupational Health Program recently visited the project site to collect water samples for water analysis at Sitio Desdeng in Barangay Salacafe.

Aside from Barangay Salacafe, the barangays of New Dumangas and Lacunon will also benefit from the said project.

“The area was so steep and dangerous to climb but we have to endure the terrain,” said Sanitary Inspector Jose Barroquillo Jr.

Aside from water sampling, the major purpose of the site visit was also to conduct ocular inspection for possible source and water development, construction of reservoir intake boxes to supply areas identified, he added.
