PNP files murder, multiple frustrated murder vs 18 Lamitan bombing suspects


The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed charges against 18 individuals allegedly involved in the bomb attack in Lamitan City, Basilan last July.

PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said of those charged with murder and multiple frustrated murder, eight have been arrested, while the 10 others are still at large.

The cases were filed before the Regional Trial Court Branch 2 of Isabela City.

The explosion, said to be a case of suicide bombing, killed 10 people, including the driver of the vehicle, on July 31 some few meters away from a military checkpoint.
