PDEA-12 declared Kidapawan ‘drug-cleared’ city – LGU

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-12 has certified Kidapawan City as a “drug-cleared” city.

According to the local government, PDEA-12 conducted re-validation of the 38 barangays, which were initially declared clear of illegal drugs.

The 38 villages were able to maintain their status, while the two remaining barangays – Poblacion and Sudapin – were also declared clear following the latest validation, it said.

Mayor Joseph Evangelista hailed the “100 percent drug-cleared” of the city as he appealed to the officials of the barangays to maintain the status.

The criteria to declare an area drug-free are the following: that there is no supply of illegal drugs in the barangay; no drug laboratory or marijuana plantation; and there is an active Barangay Drug Abuse Council.
