PCG helps medical evacuation of injured Chinese tugboat crew off Davao

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted an injured Chinese crew of a motor tugboat off Davao coast.

PCG said that Li Jiangnan, 27, was medically evacuated Thursday, August 23, after he suffered fracture and laceration on his left three fingers when they were accidentally caught by windlass cable while underway at the vicinity waters off Indonesia recently.

Li is a crew member of M/Tug Ning Hai Tuo 2 from the Henan province of China.

Upon receiving a report regarding the incident, the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao Operation Center in Davao City dispatched the PCG’s multi-role response vessel BRP Tubbataha (MRRV 4401) to render immediate assistance.

Li was brought to Davao Doctors Hospital for medical treatment.
