The Bangsamoro government is set to conduct a coastal clean-up later this month.
This as the regional government’s officials and employees participated in a parade Tuesday, June 11, to celebrate the World Environment Day and the Philippine Environment Month.
World Environment Day is celebrated every June 5 around the world. This years celebration carries the theme: “Beat Air Pollution”.
In a short program after the parade, Bangsamoro Autononous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE) Minister Abdulraof Macacua urged everyone to join in the coastal clean-up to be held on June 27 at the Kusiong Beach, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
He also reminded the residents of their responsibility “to be a good Calipha (Islamic steward) of our environment.
“We have been entrusted with the responsibility to manage, conserve and develop these God-given wealth,” the official added.
