The Island Garden City of Samal is preparing a five-year Information System Strategic Plan (ISSP) to be contained in an executive order that will be issued by the last quarter of this year, an official said.
Atty. Rosemarie B. Garde, Samal City Administrator, said that ISSP for Calendar Years 2019-2023 aims at saving cost, time processing, tracking of documents, computation, supplies and manpower.
The master plan will serve as a guide for the acquisition and utilization of information technology and “accurate and speedy delivery of services,” the official said.
Through the ISSP, she said, “We can easily generate reports and accomplishments; approve documents and monitoring of the tax collection and assessment and people electronically.”
In line with the plan, Garde said the local government will create an ISSP Management Committee to set the overall direction of the ICT programs in the city.
A Technical Working Group headed by the City Administrator’s Office-Information Technology Division will also be set up, she added.
