Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has turned over to the local police seven brand new Toyota Rush vehicles worth over P8 million to be used to patrol the central business district area.
During the turnover ceremony Monday, August 19, Climaco said the vehicles form part of her continuing commitment to the security sector under her flagship program on Security, Health and Education (SHE).
Apart from the donation of transportation facilities, the city government also spends approximately P22 million for police assistance in terms of fuel, vehicle maintenance and other logistics.
The recipients included Police Stations (PS) 11, 7, 6, and 5, Police Traffic Management Group, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) headquarters, and 911.
Each vehicle costs P1.195 million.
