The city government of Zamboanga said that its “Safe City” program, which involves the installation of 130 full high definition cameras, is underway.
Dubbed as the Security and Surveillance Equipment and System Project (SSESP) or the Public Safety Program, the project, which is a priority of Mayor Beng Climaco, amounted to P117 million.
SSESP aims to provide a command center that will act as a coordinating center for security, intelligence and disaster response, said Christopher Mandi, the designated head of the Command Center.
The center will coordinate the city ordinance implementation such as peace and order and traffic.
Mandi said the system would use intelligent video analytics powered by Huawei with state of the art and future-proofed. The fiber optic cabling will also interconnect the different offices of the command center.
Alan Aizon, in-charge of the technical side, the center would utilize technology to augment the limited traffic enforcers and ordinance implementation unit of the city government.
