Para ma-inspire! GenSan gives P1.6M to competitive barangays
The local government of General Santos has given away at least P1.6 million to recognize competitive barangays in the city.
Mayor Ronnel Rivera said the Second Barangay Competitiveness Summit and Awarding was an innovation to encourage barangays to level up in interesting development of the city being the frontline provider of services and programs.
He said the role of each barangay is paramount in bringing more socio-economic activities and development to the city.
Started in 2017, the Barangay Competitiveness Program (BCP) aims to recognize performance based on four “ranking pillars” – economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure and resiliency and to continue aiming for more accomplishments with significant impact to their respective communities
The City Tourism Council led the activity held at Greenleaf Hotel on September 20.
