Para di malusutan! Zambo Peninsula council asks barangay captains to provide foreigners’ list in their areas
Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) chaired by Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has ordered the barangay chairmen in the region to submit quarterly a list of foreigners and non-residents in their respective villages.
This was contained in a resolution patterned after the one adopted by the provincial government of Sarangani.
“The list of foreigners including photocopy of their passports will be submitted quarterly to the police,” the city government of Zamboanga said, quoting RPOC 9.
The regional council admitted that the presence of foreign nationals and overstaying in the barangays and their possible participation in fighting alongside the terror groups is one of the major issues and concerns in the region.
The four threat groups in the region are the Abu Sayyaf Group with ISIS sympathizers, Communist Terror Group, rouge Moro National Liberation Front/Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MNLF/MILF) members, criminal gangs and other lawless elements.
