Paolo ain’t off the hook yet: Ombudsman probing Duterte’s son


Former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte is currently being investigated by the Office of the Ombudsman over various offenses

This was confirmed by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales about the probe against the son of President Rodrigo Duterte based on what her officials told her.

However, she failed to give any more details what the investigation was about.

“Nag-inhibit na ako sa cases nila,” said Carpio who is the aunt of lawyer Manases Carpio, the brother-in-law of Paolo and husband of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.


On the other hand, Ombudsman records show there are there are five cases being investigated concerning Paolo.

These include accusations of having committed graft, forfeiture, perjury, violation of the code of conduct for public officials, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service. However, there were no details what the charges were about.

The former vice mayor had resigned on Dec. 25, 2017 after being tagged in the P6.4 billion shabu smuggling issue and his public clash with her 17-year-old daughter Isabelle.
