The Cotabato City government has recorded four new positive cases of coronavirus after almost three weeks of having no more active cases.
The local government said Saturday, July 11, the new cases involved locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who availed of the government’s “Hatid Tulong Program.”
The LSIs travelled by land from Manila to the drop off point in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat province. Cotabato City received 17 LSIs from this batch who were brought home last July 8.
All 17 LSIs were swabbed and the results came out Saturday morning, July 11.
Of the LSIs, four of them tested positive for Covid-19.
“These new patients are asymptomatic and have stayed at Cotabato City’s Ligtas Covid Center since they arrived. We assure that they have made no contact with their families and loved ones yet since they arrived in the city,” the local government said.
Meanwhile, the city government urged every Cotabateño to remain vigilant and immediately report to barangay officials if they see new faces in their area.
“Refrain from unnecessary movements outside your residence and always observe minimum health standards,” it added.
