Authorities have confiscated P1.7-million worth alleged smuggled cigarettes in Zamboanga Sibugay early Wednesday, July 29.
Police Regional Office 9 said the joint elements of Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office and Ipil Municipal Police Station conducted operation against smuggled cigarettes at Purok Carbibe, Brgy. Buluan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The operation led to the interception of one unit of unattended Isuzu Elf that contained 68 boxes of San Marino smuggled cigarettes with an estimated worth of P1,700,000.00.
Intercepted Isuzu Elf and smuggled cigarettes were brought to Ipil Municipal Police Station for custody and will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs, Zamboanga City.
The Ipil police conducted follow-up operation to possibly identify the owner of the smuggled cigarettes.
