The city government of Davao has restricted the movements of its residents.
In its Guidelines No. 8 on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) issued Thursday, March 12, the local government, however, clarified that it is “not on lockdown.”
But it said that all Davao residents are “prohibited from going out of Davao City.”
All short term visitors are also advised to leave the city immediately and all travelers to the city are “requested to postpone your visit until after the State of Public Health Emergency is lifted,” it said.
President Rodrigo Duterte declared Monday, March 9, a state of public health emergency due to the increasing confirmed COVID-9 cases.
