Lanao del Sur Gov. Bedjoria Soraya A. Adiong has expressed sadness over the recent clash between the military and the terrorist Maute-ISIS remnants led by Abu Dar in Pagayawan, affecting the residents.
The local chief executive described the March 11 incident, which resulted to the death of at least four people, including two terrorists and two soldiers in Barangay Padas, as “horrific.”
“As we aspire for a peaceful Lanao del Sur, I ask all out constituents to join me in praying for all those affected, most importantly in conveying our deepest concern for the residents and communities and our highest regard to the men and women in uniform for all their hard work and gallant fight to restore the safety and well-being of our people,” she said in a statement issued Wednesday, March 13.
She urged her constituents to continue to be steadfast in the effort “to eradicate the breaches of our peace that unabatingly destroy our values of freedom and unity.”
She sought for the cooperation of everyone “to defeat the merchants of hate that never cease to tear us apart.”
