NEDA-ICC-CabCom okays P39B Mindanao flood control projects
The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board’s Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) has approved the P39.2-billion flood control projects in Mindanao.
In a statement, NEDA said the Ambal-Simuay River and Rio Grande de Mindanao River Flood Control Projects, as well as the traffic-alleviating project in Metro Manila, were given the green light during the ICC-CabCom meeting on March 8.
The Mindanao flood control projects would involve the construction of various flood management infrastructure such as dikes and floodgates along the Ambal-Simuay and Rio Grande de Mindanao which are parts of the Mindanao River Basin, the second largest river basin in the country.
The flood control projects, to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), are included in the 75 flagship projects of the Duterte administration.
The ICC-approved projects will be forwarded to the NEDA Board, chaired by President Rodrigo Duterte, for confirmation.
