Almost 300 families in a barangay in Zamboanga City were displaced due to flash floods brought by continued rains early Sunday, October 18, Mayor Beng Climaco said.
Citing a report from Police Station 9, the local chief executive said that about 80 houses were submerged in Barangay Talisayan.
“A total of 289 families with 848 individuals displaced and temporarily housed at the Talisayan Elementary School and Talisayan National High School,” she said.
No casualties were reported, the mayor said.
The city government has extended assistance to the displaced families.
