Nearly 1,000 residents in Bangsamoro region have completed their skills training under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Regional Manpower and Development Center (TESDA-RMDC).
The 993 trainees received National Certificate (NC) and Certificate of Competency during a ceremony held Wednesday, December 18, at Barangay Rebuken, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
The trainees are composed of 189 persons from regular program, inclusive of beneficiaries from the Plan International (PI) and Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA); 596 from Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) scholarship program; 10 from special program with Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) grantees of Basic Computer Literacy Program; and 144 from Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).
Minister Mohagher Iqbal of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE-BARMM) urged those who completed the program to use what they have learned for their livelihood.
“You will now enter the Philippine workforce […] you are given the tools through your training, and we hope you will seek business and employment opportunities,” he said.
