Nakamamatay! Tagum City LGU asks public not to drink ‘lambanog’ sans FDA registration

The city government of Tagum has reminded the public of the advisory of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding the warning on the sale and consumption of “lambanog” not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The local government made the reminder following the series of deaths that occurred purportedly as a result of consumption.

“As such, all local chief executives, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies must ensure that these products are not sold or made available in their localities,” said DILG Secretary Eduardo Ano in his advisory to the concerned local chief executives and DILG regional directors.

Ano said that all the DILG Regional Directors and the Regional Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao are directed to cause the immediate and widest dissemination of the the advisory to their respective areas of jurisdiction.
